Creative Director

AKA Design Barista — Bringing international flavor to our daily blend.

After nearly a decade of roaming the world while based out of Los Angeles, Julie has returned to her native Kentucky. While in L.A. she co-owned New Link Media, producing videos in over twenty countries and covering topics ranging from health care in India to education in Ethiopia. Julie also launched (and still runs) her own non-profit organization, which gives her an insider's understanding into the needs of socially active organizations. After experiencing the “ins and outs” of running her own company, she now relishes the chance to focus on her strengths of intuitive communication and relationship building as our Creative Director.

Julie's Favorites

Favorite Smell: Hardware store—I know it's weird, but it reminds me of my dad who worked as a handyman

Favorite Drink: Coffee of course, also Mexican Coke

Favorite Childhood Memory: Reading books under the covers at night with my flashlight.

Favorite Movies: Love Actually, The Godfather, Kandahar, The Princess Bride, The Sound of Music, The Motorcycle Diaries, Ratatouille, Beyond Rangoon

Favorite Authors: Agatha Christie, Mark Twain, Philip Yancy, C. S. Lewis

Favorite Vehicle: Tuk-tuk: a Southeast Asian rickshaw

Favorite City Ever Visited: Chaing Mai, Thailand

If you could have the perfect meal, what would it include? It's hard to choose, I love lots of types of food, but my favorite thing is phở (pronounced “fuh”, Vietnamese beef noodle soup)

Best concert/play/musical ever attended? Les Mis in London

Have you ever met anyone famous? Living in L.A. I ran into a number of famous people. I was once followed through a parking garage by Ron Howard. Apparently he thought we knew where we were going. Also knocked over in a crowd by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? I would want Tina Fey to play me, just because I wish I were that funny and it should definitely be a tragic comedy with an ironic ending.

If you wrote a book, what would it be about? Living life to the fullest without killing yourself in the process.

City or country (or suburbs)? Flat in the big city, weekend house on the beach.

What's your biggest guilty pleasure? Chocolate of any kind, any way, any time
